I gratefully thank you, living and eternal King for You have returned within me my soul in compassion. Great is your faith(fulness).* The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Hashem, good understanding for all who practice them. His praise endures forever. Blessed is The Name. The glory of His Kingdom is forever and ever.
Modeh ani l’fanecha Melech chai v’kayam shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemlah. Rabbah emunatecha.
Translation notes:
*The Hebrew word אמונה means both faith and faithfulness. Hashem is both faithful to restore life to human beings daily. However, another perspective might be noted in that Hashem has great faith in man because he bestows upon him another day to accomplish His will.
Women:
Alternate translation: I gratefully thank You, King of Life and Existance, because You have returned my soul to me with compassion. Great is Your faithfulness.
